Li hong Man

Head Teacher / GCSE Class Teacher

Li Hong Man has been teaching Mandarin since 2004, having experience in both public education and private education. Her students range from children to adults teaching beginner level to A level Mandarin. She was involved in a digital story telling project with Gold Smith University in 2012. Currently, she is the Mandarin teacher for North Bridge House Prep School. She believes that the biggest reward as a Mandarin teacher is to witness children become confident through the joy of learning a new language. The most important aspect of teaching is to guide children to fulfil their potential and achieve their individual learning goals.

Geok Bheng Pay

Level 1 Class Teacher

Holding over 23 years of experience in education including a BA in Early Childhood Studies. Geok Bheng Pay began as an early years practitioner, starting a nursey in the year 2000. She is especially experienced in working with children with special needs. She is currently studying a MA in Children’s Book Illustration, expanding her understanding of how illustration can extend the interest of children in language development. She strives to encourage young children to learn and use Mandarin through active participation in a playful and creative way.

Kate Song

Level 2 Class Teacher

Having over nine years of Mandarin teaching experience, Kate Song has taught children of all ages from beginners to A level, including training at Goldsmith University. Kate Song believes that a child centralised learning approach makes the difference. Her focus is to ensure that lessons are as enjoyable for students as possible. Encouraging them to be engaged and making sure they learn and use Mandarin effectively.

Xiaobo Pei

Level 3 Class Teacher

Holding dual degrees from both the UK and China, including a BA in English Education and Literature. Xiaobo Pei has an immense passion for working with children. She strives to increase children’s interest in learning languages in an informative, friendly, and studious way.

Manzhu Zhang

Pre GCSE Class Teacher

Following her passion for education, Manzhu Zhang holds a MA in TESOL and PGCE teacher training in the UK. Zhang strives to lead student-centred lessons that are engaging using authentic material adapted to different pupils’ learning needs. Her expertise lies in the use of interesting and relatable methods for children to memorise Chinese characters.

Lay Yen Teh

Teaching Assistant

Lay Yen The has more than ten years of experience working with children in a preschool setting. Her passion in language stems from her joy seeing children be able to answer questions and begin conversations with both their teachers and peers in a foreign language. Witnessing how children learn and develop brings great joy to Lay Yen Teh.
